Mow Down Cancer helps families who are going through cancer treatments with their lawn mowing needs. Through the support of your contribution, families will receive the most precious gift possible; time with their loved one.
Our research indicates that most cancer charities focus on medical treatments rather than the family caring for the cancer patient. Although this is vital to curing cancer, families are often overwhelmed with the day-day tasks such as taking care of the lawn, routine maintenance, and other activities. To quote one parent:
This is SO MUCH more needed than gifts for kids or hats for kids or anything like that. Let me tell you, I had a hard time getting someone to mow the lawn when our son was in the hospital and it was SO NEEDED! My husband and I were so overwhelmed emotionally and going back and forth to the hospital etc. The lawn was last on our list.
If we can give back one hour per week per family to spend with their loved one then this program is a success.
